Tips to prevent a cockroach problem…
Larger cockroach species typically inhabit outdoor areas like gardens, drains, and garbage, venturing indoors in search of food and moisture. However, they can establish themselves indoors, particularly in places like sub-floors, roof voids, bathrooms, and kitchens.

German cockroaches, on the other hand, exclusively reside indoors. They are usually brought in accidentally, for instance, inside cardboard boxes, or they can migrate from neighboring units in apartment buildings.
Eliminate sources of food and moisture:
-
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas – promptly clean up any food spills.
-
Dispose of rubbish in sealed bags before placing it in the bin.
-
Position garbage bins away from the building and ensure they have well-fitting lids.
-
Avoid leaving pet food bowls out, especially with food in them.
-
Repair any leaking taps or pipes.
To prevent cockroaches from entering the building:
-
Make sure that insect screens on windows and doors are in good condition and fit properly.
-
Seal any gaps or cracks on the building's exterior that could serve as entry points for cockroaches (but remember to exclude weepholes).
-
Inspect incoming cardboard boxes for the presence of cockroaches and cockroach egg cases.
